About PJM Music

Paul Martorella - Born in Brooklyn New York in 1958. Paul comes from a very musical family. His father, August played piano in the big band era with some of the most popular bands of his time. Three of Paul's cousins are professional pianists of the highest caliber. With music played around the house all the time, Paul was exposed to all of the great jazz players. Once he heard Wes Montgomery Paul knew he had to play the guitar. Paul started guitar lessons at age 15 with New York guitarist and teacher Ray Gogarty. After moving to California a year later, Paul continued studying and playing in local clubs and restaurants. A friendship with jazz great Ron Eschete had a great impact on Paul's playing and eagerness to continue studying. Paul produced his first jazz instrumental album in 1984 called "Soundprints" and received regular airtime on the then jazz station KKGO. Later recordings include "Away to the North" that features a variety of original songs with both instrumental and vocal tracks. His latest production is a gospel album entitled "With Love Abound".
